About Maya

Hello! My name is Maya. Previously I have been a substitute teacher in Syracuse, NY, a songwriting teacher to kids online and in-person with 6th graders for their after school program, a babysitter, a substitute assistant preschool teacher, and a residential counselor for a pre-college summer program at Stanford. I am currently living with my parents in Fort Collins to focus on my music, save money, recover from academic/social burnout, and plan my next chapter! I love getting to know kids of all temperaments and personalities. My approach is generally calm and easygoing, but I can be assertive when I need to be. I'm involved in creative arts including songwriting and painting, so I love to play, use my imagination, and tell stories. While I don't offer structured "lessons," I would love to be a mentor in music or creative arts! Unfortunately I don't have a car or driver's license, so that is a limitation. However, I have family nearby that can provide transportation. :)
