About Maya

Hello! 25-year-old college student here with roughly 5 years of professional childcare experience & some teaching experience; I do also have more personal experience, from babysitting family members & friends & also being responsible for my own younger siblings. I have worked with children from the ages 0-12 in a school setting & also in a healthcare environment. I worked as a substitute teacher for Marymount school of New York for a few years & as a camp counselor for the YMCA summer camps of NY. My most recent experience included working as a unit assistant on the Pediatrics floor of Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center. During this time I was able to get hands on experience working with children in vulnerable states. Working with children has always been a passion of mine; whether in a school, hospital or in the home. My longterm goal is to become a counselor/mentor of some sort for young children & families.
