My name is Megan. I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, as well as my state teaching license. After some self reflection, I've realized I enjoy the one-on-one connection I get with children through nannying more so than the classroom setting. 

My nannying philosophy draws from RIE, Montessori, & respectful parenting (I have a preschooler of my own). I've primarily worked with infants & toddlers throughout my decade+ long career. I am continually amazed by their curiosity, compassion, intelligence, & energetic awareness! I'm a big believer in natural/unassisted motor development, teaching consent early, giving children space to figure things out on their own, and holding supportive emotional containers for big emotions. Getting outside/going on daily adventures is crucial to me as well (no bad weather, only bad clothes). I treat children with respect, honor their innate wisdom, & do my own internal work so that I can be the most compassionate & loving caregiver possible.

Megan was amazing, knowledgeable and intuitive with our 5-year-old and newborn. Being a Covid baby, our older child is often wary of new people and yet Megan immediately put her at ease and has a kindness and gentleness about her. She has an impressive depth of experience providing care to children which is evident in her work. She provided a detailed sheet to us regarding activities, bottles/snacks/lunch, stories, songs, potty breaks/diaper changes, and even general moods of the children which was (by far) more thorough than anything I've seen. She is also a parent herself and has a lot of helpful practical guidance about anything you could imagine. We are so grateful for the time our children spent with her!

I actually connected with Megan through a friend who had previously hired her. I was venting to her about potty training my 4-year-old son. She mentioned that Megan helped with her daughter’s potty training and was a godsend. 

I reached out to Megan and despite being on the other side of the country from us, she offered to consult with us virtually. After lots of conversations, she was able to pinpoint exactly why our son was resisting the potty. She offered simple and realistic strategies that actually worked. She introduced sensory-friendly routines (like using visual schedules, a personalized “potty story”, and body awareness activities) that helped our son feel more in control and less overwhelmed by the process. She also coached US as parents through meltdowns and minor regressions. 

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and unsure with where to start when it comes to helping your child through something tough (especially a neurodivergent or sensory sensitive kid), Megan is a true lifeline. Thoughtful, empathetic, and incredibly practical.

Megan has worked for us intermittently for a few years now, taking on date nights and random days that our full time nanny can’t make it. My 2-year-old triplet boys love her and it’s always a fun treat when Miss Megan gets to come over and play. However, we recently took her with us on an international trip as a “vacation nanny” and when we returned, I told my husband that I might never take another vacation without her again. She really dove right in with us; keeping the boys happy/content on the long plane ride, hanging back at the hotel with one or two of them so my husband and I could get quality time with each, managing the bedtime battle in a brand new place, jumping in during chaotic meals out, even playing “photographer” and getting some adorable shots of both my husband and I with the boys. If she was ever flustered, she certainly didn’t show it. The trip would not have been nearly as enjoyable without her assistance. I can only hope she’ll be able to tag along on our next trip :) 

After communicating with dozens of caregivers on Care, I can say without hesitation that Megan is absolutely the real deal. She was incredibly transparent and told us up front that she could start only on a trial basis, because she thought the drive may be too far. When it became clear that this was the case (over a 40 min drive in heavy traffic!), Megan continued to help us out sporadically for several weeks while we arranged for other care. She is very mature, polite, punctual, and trustworthy. She is also clear/frequent with communication, sending photos and updating us on anything significant. Our toddlers (3-year-old twins) loved her kind and gentle spirit, and eagerly anticipated her arrival every day - much preferring a "Megan morning" to a "Mama morning". Megan also took care of our dog during the morning, including taking her on the walk to and from school, filling up her water bowl, etc. This was absolutely not something we expected, she just did it anyway. Highly recommend!

Megan is AMAZING! My wife and I are extremely particular about who we hire to watch our children and Megan meets all our expectations. Her calm personality makes her an ideal sitter for toddlers as she is very patient. She's a pro at re-framing situations and making them positive. Rather than telling our 2-year-old not to throw a ball, she'll say something like instead of throwing the ball inside, let's save that for outside. This aligns with how we parent so it's a characteristic we really appreciate. Our older kids (10 and 12) have also developed unique relationships with her that are critical to their individual development as they approach their teen years. She understands their strengths and weaknesses and talks openly with us about how they behave with her when she's here for date nights. She reinforces the things we ask her to and offers suggestions when she sees alternative ways to approach a situation. Conversation with Megan is easy and thoughtful, absolutely recommend her.

I recommend Megan as highly as possible. My wife and I used her for 2 consecutive nights while we were visiting family in Seattle. In literally minutes, she was tending to our 10-week-old with a tenderness and passion you usually only see from close relatives. Our baby LOVED her. She allowed us to go out for dinner and drinks on both nights of our trip and not worry for a minute. She sent us photos every hour or so to make sure we were comfortable, even while our daughter was just sleeping. In the midst of all this, our dog was uncooperative and rather needy but Megan was unfazed and took great care of her too. It was our first time getting a "stranger" sitter online and Megan made us feel entirely at ease. My only complaint would be that I wish she lived in Portland so we could use her all the time! If you happen to be local to Seattle, she's a rare find.

Megan is wonderful. She is the first sitter I have trusted to leave our 2.5 year old son with (aside from grandparents). She brought games to play and engaged our kiddo in ways that made him feel so at ease. She also sent photos for me to reassure my anxious mama self that all was well at home. Megan is a brilliant caregiver~thoughtful, patient, and intentional in her approach with children.

There is an important element to babysitting that is hard to describe...when someone takes to your kids immediately and jumps right in and starts helping. Megan, having never met my kids before, walked right in the door that very first night (was so warm with all of us) and started getting to know the kids. She jumped in and took over making dinner so I could finish getting ready and put the baby down for the night. She asked my 4-year-old to help her (which he adored!). I felt so at ease knowing my kids weren't just being "taken care of", she treated them like her own. There aren't enough words for someone like that! We will continue booking her again and again and again, if she'll have us! My son is always asking when Ms. Megan is going to come back, he says I'm not as much fun as she is ;)

When we were nervous first-time parents, Megan was the first babysitter we trusted outside of family. She has been babysitting for us since 2018, when our oldest son was barely a year old. He absolutely adores her which makes sneaking out for dates easy. A telling story about Megan: When my second son was about 10 weeks old, my husband and I had to go to a wedding. We'd been having a terrible time transitioning the baby to bottles, and asked Megan to help since I also had to return to work the following Monday. Even knowing it would be a tough night, Megan stepped in and handled it like a pro, getting the baby to drink from a dropper when he continued to refuse the bottle. Her advice, experience and poise helped us so much in this situation. Apart from being great with the kids, Megan is accommodating to any requests or preferences. She also takes on chores she doesn't need to, like dishes! I'd hire her on as our full time nanny in a heartbeat if she didn't have other commitments.

I have so many wonderful things to say about Megan! I am very particular about who I leave my daughters with (ages 2.5 years and 3 months), something many parents can relate to. I was incredibly impressed with Megan. She is intuitive, patient, and naturally calm. You can feel her passion for kids. When my husband and I came home from our night out (the first one in a LONG time), we were greeted with paintings and little banners with my daughters' foot and hand prints. That experience alone was priceless. Not to mention, she was able to get both girls through their evening routine and down for bed on time, and my oldest woke up the next morning happily asking for "Mae Mae". Megan even tidied up the living room and kitchen while the girls were sleeping, truly going above and beyond anything we would have expected. I highly recommend her! 

Megan is truly the baby whisperer. Her wealth of experience working with babies and toddlers will put you at ease when you're away. Megan has watched our newborn infant twins and 2-year-old for everything from date nights to full 10 hour days while my husband and I are at work. She is nurturing, knowledgeable, and flexible. My newborn daughter has reflux and allergies requiring her to have different formula than her twin brother. Megan is diligent in meeting both babies' needs AND the needs of a busy toddler - I was shocked when I walked in the door one afternoon during lunch and my toddler was carefully putting food he didn't want to the side versus throwing it on the floor. She has the patience of a saint and I'm constantly amazed. I'm only writing this because we're moving back to the East Coast. Otherwise, I'd hog her for my own kids who just giggle whenever she's around. We will miss her dearly, she's a total gem if you can get her.

After speaking to and interviewing many, many nannies when I was looking to return to work after maternity leave, I finally decided to become a stay-at-home mom because we couldn't seem to find the right fit. Flash forward 4 months later and I started looking for a date night/occasional daytime babysitter - and we found Megan. She is everything that we were looking for when we were trying so hard to find a full time nanny. She arrived for her interview early, had a resume, cover letter, and references. She instantly connected with our 6-month-old, to the point that she fell asleep in Megan's arms during the interview! She ended up working for us on a more regular basis over the summer while I worked from home. She helped our daughter get on a solid nap and eating schedule so I could finally get some rest myself. I feel so fortunate to have found her, and while I could go on and on, I don't think I need to. 

I am a mother of two and met Megan one morning at the Seattle science museum while she was caring for toddler twins. I noticed her immediately because she stood out from many of the other nannies I encounter while I'm out and about. She constantly spoke to the children in a very gentle and soothing voice, explaining how things worked and what each thing was. She patiently answered their non-stop questions. She never once had her cell phone out to look at it and/or take calls. We started talking and I was very impressed with the efforts she makes to engage children (including mine at the time we were at the museum!). Play and talk are so important to children at that young age, and I really thought she took the time to do that with the kids she watched. Since that first meeting at the museum, we have kept in touch and have even met up for play dates and such. She is a sweet, gentle, and truly thoughtful caregiver. I would trust her with my two kids anytime. 

In short, Megan is a miracle worker. Not in the turning water into wine kind of way, but very, very close. Prior to hiring Megan as our weekend nanny, our 3-year-old was a total mess. He had a biting problem, could barely talk, and didn't always play well with peers. We received nearly daily phone calls from school regarding his behavior. Today, he is a different kid thanks to Megan. She has done a phenomenal job managing his speech therapy (he has apraxia) and making sure he doesn't fall behind on preschool work. She is super creative, highly adaptable, and nurturing. She has helped us extinguish our son's bad behaviors through a savvy combination of establishing clear expectations and delivering natural consequences. As a nurse with a hectic schedule and a serious case of mom guilt, Megan has done an amazing job keeping me plugged in and connected to my son. We are truly devastated that we're moving and have to say goodbye to Megan. We're a better family because of her.

Megan is a wonderful caregiver! She works for our family several times a month, watching my 3-year-old and/or my 4-month-old infant (usually just one or the other, but sometimes both) while I work from home. My 3-year-old absolutely loves her. She always brings arts and craft projects, she plays music, dances, reads books - constantly engaging my child. One morning I texted her and joked about my daughter saying she wanted to jump in puddles after it had rained, and Megan showed up in rain boots ready to play! She also managed to keep a very Mommy-focused baby happy away from me for a few hours at a time and got him to take a bottle, which was nothing short of a miracle. She was reliable, trustworthy, and she always cleaned up after herself and the kids. She was even willing to travel to care for my baby when I needed to bring him with me to a business meeting. I can't say enough great things about Megan!

Megan looked after our 7-month-old twin boys while we enjoyed a night out. Megan brought along Montessori based toys to share with the boys, sang songs, and our exit was pain (and tear) free as the boys were at ease and engaged with their lovely sitter. She was able to get both babies in bed on time, without conflict (something we're not always able to do ourselves!), and had some useful practical advice for us regarding bedtime routine. She really is an amazing resource with great knowledge of child development and a wealth of experience that shows. My wife and I absolutely plan on using her again in the future. 

Megan worked with our 2-year-old son from November 2017 to January 2018 as his assistant in his daycare classroom. Due to his hearing loss and some behavioral issues, he required extra help and supervision to be successful in the classroom. 

It was a great relief when Megan started in the classroom with our son. She was always on time and ready to work. We saw an immediate change in his behavior and performance. Prior to hiring her, we were receiving frequent reports about behavioral problems & he was sent home on multiple occasions. Once Megan started working with him, we did not receive any reports when she was with him.

Megan brought her great skill set and calming presence to work with our son. She gently helped him to use his words to solve conflicts and negotiate his classroom. She also worked with our son's hearing specialist to incorporate her recommendations into the classroom. Megan showed our son great love and care through the time as his assistant. 

We have been using Megan as our go-to date night/weekend day time babysitter for just over a year now. We have two boys, they were 2.5 and 5 when Megan first started. Like most boys, they can be a handful at times, but Megan has a fantastic command of the children in a way that creates a very calm and peaceful environment. Our boys absolutely love her and get so excited when they know she's coming over. She frequently brings craft materials and activities with her that keep the boys actively engaged and interested. She is extremely mature, punctual and dependable, with the ability to problem solve when necessary. She has also surprised us after date nights by doing little things around the house without us asking: a load of laundry, unpacking some stuff from a family vacation, tidying up the kitchen and living room. After going through numerous other caregivers that didn't quite fit the bill for one reason or another, we are very lucky to have found Megan.

We hired Megan to provide full time child care for our 4-year-old son. She was with us for one month, and due to a completely unanticipated change in our family situation, we were regretfully not able to continue with Megan. However, she did an incredible job at a building a close relationship with our son very quickly (he adores her!) Megan was responsible for all aspects of care, including morning routine, playtime, outings, crafts, snacks, lunches, naps, and bedtime. She was also always happy to handle anything else asked of her, such as reorganizing play areas or closets. Her temperament is very calm & relaxed and she was never the least bit frazzled after spending 8 hours alone with a very active and energetic preschooler.

Megan has an incredible background that prepares her very well for caring for children and she has lots of ideas on activities, learning, growth, etc that we found very useful. In addition, she demonstrates a strong work ethic, flexibility, and dependability. 

We originally interviewed Megan for a position as a full-time nanny. We enjoyed the conversation with her and we were very impressed with her background and professionalism. We were ready to extend an offer to her for employment, but we sadly waited too long and she had already found a position. The good ones get snagged quickly! That being said, we love having her over to cover date nights. She's truly fabulous with our children.
