About Melanie

I am the mom of 4 children and have loved witnessing the different stages of development among my own children. I have served in the church nursery for 13 years and have a career in journalism and communications, some of which has focused on early care and education (children birth to age 5). Some of my training and experience includes Parent-Child Interactive Therapy, Triple P - Positive Parenting, Incredible Years parenting, child abuse prevention and First Aid/CPR/AED. Currently I am training as a newborn care specialist, as my passion is working with babies 4 months and under, during those precious but challenging earliest moments of life. I am prioritizing helping parents of newborns, singles, & multiples, but can be available as needed for other care. My strengths are multitasking, working through breastfeeding challenges, sleep training, & early communication/reading baby cues. I also own a photography business w/ a focus in birth, first moments, children & families.
