About Melanie

​Melanie worked for our family for 6 ½ years, from January 2020 until July 2026. We are excited for her next phase of life, but she is leaving behind a Melanie-shaped hole in our hearts! Melanie is as competent, warm and wonderful of a nanny as you will ever find. She is a “career nanny” - someone who provides expert-level care and takes her responsibility to her families very seriously. She shows up on time, communicates clearly and effectively, exercises safety precautions above and beyond my expectations, and has formed a bond with me and my kids that we will always cherish. She has provided guidance, compassion, and direction to my kids (now 6 and 8) and is someone we now consider part of the family. Melanie is intelligent, laid-back, funny, and easy to be around, but also incredibly organized and conscientious. She integrates well and easily into the family, and gets to know grandparents and play date friends so she can communicate with them directly as needed. She has also provided house manager duties for us, such as taking care of pets, monitoring maintenance workers at the house, grocery shopping, and preparing meals for the family. Melanie is someone who will do what is helpful without even having to be asked. If there is a package sitting out to be returned, she will just grab it and say, “I’ll drop this off on my way home.” She does a regular cleanout of my kids’ closets, pulling out items that they have outgrown and noting what holes we need to fill. She has gotten us through Covid, two house moves, a tough divorce, and countless other life transitions. She is an excellent ally to have as a parent in all respects. I recommend Melanie as a nanny with my whole heart. She was wonderful at the baby stage and continues to be wonderful now at the elementary-school age.
