In previous years I have been active with child-focused organizations in the Burnsville community. I led the Bald Creek Brownie Troop for 2 years, coached a Toe Valley soccer team for 1 year, and taught children's yoga at Bald Creek Elementary for 1 year. Since June 2022 I have worked as a full-time nanny with children ages newborn to 4 years, for the same family. Prior to that, I worked 7 years in the health and wellness field as a holistic nutritionist, online teacher, and yoga instructor. During that time, I also worked as a senior caregiver and found the relationships and work to be fulfilling.

Melanie is also a neighbor and friend. We both home schooled our children and they are in the same home school group which meets once a week. Melanie has taken care of my children for me many times. Other than my family, she is the only person I've ever left my children with. I trust her explicitly in every way. She is extremely responsible, resourceful, kind, intelligent, strong and healthy, gentle but firm, and most importantly, trustworthy.
