About Melissa

Melissa was our nanny for 2.5 years, caring for our older daughter from ages 1-3 and then our younger daughter from 1-1.5 before she unfortunately moved away. If she still lived here, we would hire her back without hesitation. It's difficult to put into words how special Melissa is. She has a rare ability to truly understand how young children think and what they need at each stage of development. She isn't just watching children. She is completely invested in helping them learn, grow, and thrive. One of the things that amazed us most was how much thought and effort she put into every single day. She spent her own free time researching and creating activities specifically tailored to our daughters' developmental stages. After every nap, there was always something exciting waiting for them: a maze, a sorting game, a sensory activity, or a creative project that was perfectly matched to what they were learning at that moment. She made learning feel like pure fun. One moment that perfectly captures who Melissa is happened when our older daughter was approaching the stage where she would inevitably try climbing off the couch. Before it even became an issue, Melissa recognized what was coming and proactively taught her the safe way to get down. That kind of foresight, combined with her deep understanding of child development, gave us tremendous confidence in her judgment every single day. Melissa also brought an incredible amount of energy. She somehow matched the endless energy of our toddler, and the amount of laughter in our house when she was here was unbelievable. Our girls absolutely adored her. Even now, six months after she moved away, they still talk about her all the time and miss her dearly. We stay in touch, and she regularly video calls the girls. They get so excited every time they see her, which says everything about the relationship she built with them. We miss her just as much. As parents, Melissa was everything we could have hoped for. She was always punctual, incredibly reliable, and remarkably flexible whenever we needed to adjust schedules. In 2.5 years, she hardly missed a day of work. Communication was effortless. She kept us updated, shared milestones, and was always a joy to talk with. More than anything, Melissa became part of our family. She cared for our daughters with the same thoughtfulness, patience, and enthusiasm that every parent hopes to find but very few actually do. We would recommend Melissa without reservation to any family with children of any age. She is truly one of a kind, and any family lucky enough to have her will quickly understand why we still wish she had never left.
