About Melissa

Melissa B started working for us in April of 2024 caring for our daughter, who was 16 months at the time. Later in July 2025 she added care for our second daughter as well. Her duties were focused on childcare: food preparation, laundry, transportation, stocking supplies, hygiene and activity planning. Melissa has a gift with young children; she has a unique ability to read and empathize with them deeply. She is finely in tune with their needs, milestones and safety standards. She remains steady and positive through the emotional roller coasters of early childhood development. Melissa was especially strong during my second pregnancy and birth. She adapted quickly, carried extra weight without being asked and beautifully switched between the needs of a newborn and the needs of a toddler, who was in the middle of potty training. She genuinely made an otherwise hard time enjoyable. Melissa has been a model employee. In over two years I can count on a single hand the number of times she has called out or been late. She has dutifully worked while sick, with our permission, to minimize disruption to our work schedules. She has happily flexed her schedule around to maintain coverage. She has listened carefully to our values as parents and worked intentionally to align with them. She has gracefully balanced gentle yet firm behavioral boundaries. She’s been especially strong in social planning. Within a few weeks of starting, she had developed a regular schedule of social and developmental activities; swim lessons, gymnastics, story times and toddler groups. She actively adapted programming as needs changed. She grew a network of other nannies and children for regular play dates; our daughters have a solid set of friends. Most importantly, she cares deeply for our children. We’ve never once worried for their safety under her care. It’s clear she has an intrinsic motivation to see them flourish into empathetic children. We are consistently proud of them; there’s not a doubt in our minds that Melissa’s influence played a major part in that. Melissa has been a wonderful addition to our family and we easily recommend her to other families with young children and babies.
