About Michael

I've been teaching high school English for 3 years. Prior to teaching high school, I taught 7th-grade English and a reading intervention class for one year. Prior to that, I worked as a Title I TA where I provided one-on-one support in English classes to students who struggled. I have experience teaching all grades in high school and many different novels. I pride myself on my writing instruction. I happily teach summer school every year; I love when I see struggling kids find their way and maybe even a new passion for writing or reading! In high school, I was a kid who struggled with my academic motivation. I didn't feel like I connected with my teachers or the material. As an educator, I excel at connecting with students and leveraging that connection to motivate learning. I strive to be the teacher I needed when I was young.
