About Michael

I have practiced kindness, patience, endurance, determination, solidarity, and empathy throughout my life in living with and working with those who are older than myself. I am accustomed to the difficulties in maintaining dignity, independence, humor, self-compassion, patience, and self-respect throughout aging. I respect those who are older than myself. From a very young age, I lived with my great grandmother and learned to assist and participate in caring for her. This continued for over a decade. Later as a teenager, my father's mother lived with us, who wrestled with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's with mobility and memory difficulties. I learned much about these difficulties, and learned practices of care which helped to mitigate the difficulties of these challenges. Love, empathy, and patience accompanied me. Later, I worked at a Personal Care Home where I bathed, served, cooked, and assisted those who required assistance with daily living, schedules, medications, exercise, etc.
