About Mika

Hi, My name is Mika! I'm a certified elementary school teacher seeking a regular ongoing Care position. About me: I taught in public schools for 6 years and previous to that was a therapist for kids with autism for 3 years. I did therapy with kids aged 3-12 years. My Texas teacher certification is valid until 2030 and I am qualified to teach early childhood-grade 6 (core subjects). I have taught a wide variety of kids as a reading specialist (kindergarten-5th grade) a pre-K special education teacher and a 1st and 2nd grade classroom teacher. I have also worked with many families through Care and can provide references upon request. I bring in the latest knowledge and research based strategies making me a uniquely fun, nurturing and invested care giver. I recognize that I am a role model for the kids I'm working with and I try to model character traits like kindness, patience and a love of learning.
