About Mikayla

I am originally from Arlington, Virginia. I attended St. John's University in Queens, New York (NY). There I obtained a dual degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Spanish Literature. Directly after graduation, I began my teaching career in Brooklyn, NY where I taught both special education and general education and became a grade-team lead. After 4 years, I moved back home in preparation for pursuing my doctorate. Most recently I also had lots of experience writing IEPs and managing accommodations. Throughout the past 10 years, while working full time and attending school, I managed to keep up my tutoring business where I worked with students K-12. Due to the pandemic/virtual learning, my tutoring shifted to caregiving as many families were hesitant to send their children to childcare or back into the classroom. Managing a class of 30 is fun, but I wont have time for that while in school. I hope care. com will help me use my expertise and assist local families.
