About Miya

Hi, I'm Miya! Education: I hold a B. S. in Psychology and M. A. in Applied Development and Educational Psychology, both from Boston College. Work Experience: EMT-B (making me CPR/First-Aid certified), Learning Specialist at the Latin School of Chicago teaching students with learning differences (e. g. dyslexia, ADD, spectrum), and K-12 tutoring. Currently studying as I transition from teaching to a healthcare career. I also volunteer in the playroom at Comer Children's Hospital. I'm a proud aunt to two nieces, a dog lover with two big pups of my own, I enjoy writing (I've published a collection of poetry!), arts and crafts, and staying active (tennis is my favorite). I believe in making time with children screen-free, prioritizing creativity, play, and letting kids explore their imaginations. I have my own car, a clean driving record, and a history of long-term childcare relationships (my longest being three years). Let's connect and see how I can support your family!
