My spouse and I are active duty military and unable to be in Albuquerque to care for my mother, who has Lewy Body Dementia. Finding quality care was crucial, and we were incredibly fortunate to find Monica. She has been providing exceptional care for my mother for the past two years, and without her remarkable dedication, I wouldn't have been able to keep my mother in her own home for so long. Monica has been patient, kind, and loving in every aspect of her role. She consistently exceeded my expectations, spending meaningful time with my mother, taking her to the park, walking the dog, and visiting senior centers, museums, and local events. She engaged my mother in activities that kept her mind active and was highly attuned to her moods, recognizing when she needed some alone time or rest. Monica promptly communicated any concerns regarding my mother’s health, medications, or needs. When my mother began having balance issues, Monica took her to a strength class at the senior center, which greatly improved her coordination and balance. She went out of her way to prepare nutritious meals to help her gain weight and often took her out for her favorite foods. In addition to her extraordinary caregiving, Monica maintained a spotless home and assisted with yard work. Given my distance, I was unable to support my mom with daily activities, but Monica handled grocery orders, household needs, and all doctor’s appointments with impeccable reliability. I trusted her completely with both my mother’s care and her home. Words cannot fully express my gratitude for everything she has done for my family.
