About Monica

Experience: 10 yrs

Hi caregivers! I'm a child development professional with 10+ years experience. My experience: I've been a caregiver and have professionally worked with children for 10+ years, mainly with toddlers/elementary aged kids, including kids diagnosed with Autism and other special needs. I am experienced in teaching important skills such as self-regulation, communication, toilet training, self-advocacy, and problem solving. I have a Bachelor's in psychology and a Master's in behavior analysis. I'm looking to make a career change so I can work directly with kids full time. My personality and values: I am patient, kind, fun, curious, creative, and love having little friends :) I believe in being a present caregiver that empathizes, is flexible, co-regulates, and knows how to have fun. I love being outdoors (when it's not too hot), coming up with fun activities, going to the library, reading books, and anything that involves playing and learning!

Monica was a nanny to our two children (ages 5 and 1.5) for almost three months. She was absolutely AMAZING with both kids. Her education in early childhood development and her vast experience as a play-based therapist made her an ideal nanny. She is kind, compassionate, calm, and has all the tools needed to help children learn and thrive. In just three months, we saw our youngest go through a HUGE developmental leap. I credit this to Monica, who worked with him all day, every day -- in a fun and playful way. He learned colors, expanded his vocabulary, began basic counting, and could say portions of the alphabet. And, most importantly, he was SO loved! Monica spent less time with my oldest because she's in school most of the day. But when she had both kids, she worked with them on sharing and gentle touches. She also worked with my oldest on regulating emotions. I saw HUGE improvements in these areas. I cannot say enough great things about Monica! Just hire her :)
