My experience with this caregiver was unfortunately very disappointing and raised concerns for me regarding professionalism, communication, and reliability. Communication was slow from the beginning, and I was asked to provide several pieces of information and accommodate multiple requests, all of which I did in an effort to make the process comfortable and transparent for both of us. However, that same level of transparency was not reciprocated. When I requested documentation to verify his identity and credentials, including a copy of his license, he stated that he was not comfortable providing it. I respected that concern and instead offered the opportunity to meet in person at an agreed-upon public location so that we could verify information and discuss the position. After that, I received no response and no explanation. To date, he has not followed up. For someone seeking a caregiver, reliability, communication, and the willingness to appropriately verify credentials are extremely important. Based solely on my personal experience, I would not recommend moving forward with this individual. He was pleasant in conversation and initially presented himself well, but unfortunately, the follow-through did not match the impression he gave. My advice to other families is to proceed cautiously, verify all credentials before moving forward, and consider other candidates if communication or transparency becomes an issue. My experience ultimately resulted in a significant amount of wasted time.
