About Mya

Hi! I am a nanny with 9 years of childcare experience, including 4 years of nannying, and I am seeking my next position. Most of my experience is with infants and toddlers from 6 weeks to 5 years old. I have been with my current family since their daughter was 5 months old (she is now 18 months!). My approach is based in respectful caregiving, Montessori principles, and positive discipline. I respect children as capable individuals, giving them space for self-directed play and building skills at their own pace tailoring my support to their individual needs. I work through big emotions by offering a calm, steady presence and setting clear, gentle boundaries. I focus on nourishing the whole child encouraging development of social-emotional growth and practical life skills. I have my CPR and First Aid certification, coursework in developmental psychology and early childhood education, as well as extensive experience with BLW and Baby ASL. Hope to talk with you soon!
