About Nancy
Experience: 10 yrs
After retiring from successful professional careers, I began my favorite career over 7 years ago, tutoring and teaching. I tutoring from grade 4 and up, including advanced level. I have also taught several home-school students where I designed and built their curriculum and selected texts. I use very individualized approaches. First I make sure they have strong foundational skills to help them understand current lessons. Often I include executive functioning skills as we work: organizing, prioritizing, and breaking big projects down to smaller steps. My role is flexible as I have guided HS students to current and summer programs, and have tutored SAT and ISEE tests. When other tutors have failed to get through, I have succeeded in helping many students to regain confidence and succeed. I am extremely committed to each of my students.
