About Nancy

I am an avid lover of animals. They unconditionally provide their humans with love and nurturing and ask little in return. My husband and I are currently without a dog as our beautiful labrador, who was also my husband's guide dog, passed away a few weeks ago. We have had the pleasure of owning another labrador and two Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I volunteered with the Colorado Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue organization for three years (~2005-2008), and we fostered about five dogs in our home. I also did home visits prior to sending a dog to a new home. Our first dog was a loving Labrador Retriever. My husband and I have read many books on dog behavior and training. I emphasize behavior because it is difficult to train a dog without understanding the threshold of what a dog is capable of understanding and how human reactions interface with their behaviors.
