My pets have included (my own and the ones I grew up with) cats (including Angoras and Persians), and dogs (huskies, cocker spaniels, beagles, golden retrievers, mixed breeds). I have been an also been a long term paid pet sitter for several families. My last dog was an extremely traumatized, frightened of most people and noises. I did extensive reading on how to help her and she blossomed into the most loving, sweet and nurturing dog I've ever known. Last summer I had a three week live-in pet sitting job. Eight chickens, two ducks, 20 geckos of different types, a bearded dragon, an axolotl and a snake plus three cats and a dog. At the moment my only animal companion is a one-eyed tiny rescue cat. I really miss having a dog but she won't allow it, I'm hoping to find some dog walking opportunities here as I walk at least 2 miles a day, and the more the better. I love going for walks anyway but I definitely enjoy it more with a dog!
