I am a Jamaican who worked as an LPN in the geriatric, pediatrics and general hospitals. I was also trained and worked in the department of technical radiation at the University of the West Indies. I migrated to the USA a little over 20 years and continue to work as a CNA. I choose to continue in geriatric care because I believe that this area of nursing has the demand for people who are willing to apply much empathy and love for humanity even if the individual is not in the position to display gratitude due to the their mental capacity. It is with wholehearted gratitude to watch the client relax in comfort and satisfaction after the effort of applying good patient care even when the client is not able to verbalize their true feeling.
