I have always been the oldest child in my family, whether it comes to immediate family or my extended family. I began babysitting my cousins when they were born. My aunt was a doctor and had to frequently work nights or be on call, so I became an on call babysitter. Then I moved on to babysitting my neighborhood children. My neighbors had three children, ages 9 months, 2 and 4 years old. I helped with light house-keeping, entertaining the children and making snacks. With the 9 month old child I fed her dinner, had nap-times and changed diapers. After that time I went to college and instead of babysitting took to tutoring. I tutored older kids, but continued to teach dance to young children. Its rewarding working with children because they brighten your day and its so important for a parent to be able to go out and have fun or work without constantly worrying about their child.
