About Priyanka

I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences with a focus in Early Childhood Development . I was a teacher at the NAEYC certified Child and Family Laboratory School at UT, in the 4-5-year-old class. I've had a lot of experience with child care, even teaching Taekwondo to all ages (children and adults) for 6 years at the Cypress Creek YMCA. I recently got back from Lesotho, a very poor and rural country landlocked in South Africa. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer, serving my 27 months in Lesotho. My Health and Youth/Community Development project focused on HIV prevention, education, treatment and Life Skills in the country with the second highest HIV prevalence rate in the world. I am very happy with my new found appreciation and perspective of life that I have gained from living there. I have a second Bachelors degree & am Board Certified in Cytogenetics,. I have 3 dogs from Africa! I work at MD Anderson during the day.
