Experience: 4 yrs
Supporting the well-being and independence of seniors is my true calling. With four years of dedicated experience, I bring a compassionate, hardworking, and fun-loving approach to every home I enter. I hold CPR Training and First Aid Training certifications as well as a Dementia Care Practitioner Certification. I prioritize understanding each individual's unique history and personal preferences to build a genuine connection. Whether I am assisting with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, or transportation, my goal is to make a positive impact on your daily life. I am skilled at redirecting attention and handling behavioral changes with patience and grace. I maintain open communication through your preferred method, providing regular updates on your loved one's well-being. It is my sincere honor to provide the care and companionship that helps your family member thrive every single day.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Rachel for caregiving. My mother requires consistent assistance with eating, drinking, personal care, and supervision due to dementia. Reliability and dependability were extremely important to me when hiring a caregiver, and Rachel assured me that attendance and reliability would not be an issue. Unfortunately, there were multiple occasions when Rachel called out with little notice, despite knowing that I work as a flight attendant and can be away from home for several days at a time. This made it extremely difficult for me to arrange alternative care and created serious concerns about my mother's safety and well-being. The most recent incident was especially concerning. At approximately 9:30 p.m., Rachel notified me that she would not be coming the following day, despite knowing that I was away from home and unable to return immediately. My mother was left without her scheduled assistance, including help with meals, hydration, and personal care. I was also concerned because my mother was in the home with a soiled diaper and the back door had been left open. Because of my mother's condition, missed caregiving shifts are not simply an inconvenience—they can directly affect her ability to eat, drink, maintain personal hygiene, and remain safe. I understand that emergencies can happen, but the repeated last-minute cancellations made it impossible for me to depend on Rachel for the consistent care my mother requires. I would strongly encourage families caring for someone who needs dependable supervision to carefully consider whether this arrangement would be appropriate for their situation.
