Experience: 5 yrs
Hi, my name is Reese, and I have over five years of childcare experience caring for children ranging from infants to teenagers. I have worked as a full-time nanny, swim instructor, and babysitter for multiple families, giving me experience with children of all ages and developmental stages. I enjoy creating a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. I am patient, dependable, and passionate about helping children thrive while providing families with reliable, high-quality care. My goal is to support each child's individual needs while fostering creativity, confidence, and a positive daily routine.
Reese initially seemed like a dream applicant. Her profile and resume were impressive, she was super responsive to communication, and her phone interview and reference checks vwent great. We proceeded to an in-person meeting with our entire family and she bonded extremely well with our toddler age son. While we had several other great applicants, we made a very difficult decision to give Reese an offer and felt great about the decision. We then proceeded to do an onboarding where she went through logistics with my wife, signed a contract, filled out tax paperwork, and watched our younger son while my wife was with the toddler at swimming lessons. We paid her for her time and were ready for her to start work a couple weeks after. Through a chance post on a Women in Medicine local Facebook group, however, we discovered that Reese had also verbally accepted another position two days after signing a contract with us. This was particularly frustrating because we asked when we made her an offer if she needed time to think it over or consider other positions, and instead she accepted on the spot. When both families asked Reese to explain the situation, she immediately ghosted both of us, leaving us in the unenviable siituation of re-starting a nanny search while on our only vacation of the year in Montana two weeks before the posted start date (the other family had a position that was supposed to start 5 days later). I honestly cannot understand the lack of consideration and duplicity here. Reese has many great qualities, hopefully she learns from this mistake and treats future prospective families with more integrity and respect.
