About Robin

I worked as a teacher for 19 years and did a lot of tutoring on the side. My approach to tutoring is to form a positive, trusting bond with the student then build on their strengths and interests to accomplish the goals. I can help students of any age understand their own learning, grow more conscious of specific tools and strategies they can use to build skills, and to understand the value of their school work within a broader context. My strengths are in language arts and social studies, including reading comprehension, expository writing, and study skills. I also have experience teaching math to young children (K-4th grade) using a hands-on, multi-sensory approach. I am CPR certified and can provide background checks.
