About Robyn

Experience: 8 yrs

Bringing eight years of experience working with children aged newborn to 11, I am eager to provide nurturing care for your little ones. My passion stems from a genuine desire to foster children's growth and development, which is why I am currently in nursing school to become a pediatric nurse. I am patient, creative, and friendly, and I enjoy playing outdoor sports, board games, and educational games. I'm comfortable caring for up to three children and will happily follow your lead when enforcing household rules. I'm a certified assistant teacher working with children from infants to 3 years old with CPR Training and can assist with cooking, light housekeeping, and crafts. I communicate with parents at pickup, via text, or by phone, depending on your preference. Ultimately, I want to make a positive impact on your children's lives, and I hope to bring some fun and engaging activities to your home.

Robyn worked with our family for approximately six months (3/2026-8/2026) caring for our infant son, and writing this review is incredibly disappointing because, for much of that time, she became deeply integrated into our family and our lives. When Robyn was present and engaged, she was wonderful with our son. We trusted her enough to welcome her into our home regularly and relied on her as an important part of our childcare support system. She was helpful, affectionate with our baby, and someone we came to care about personally. Our relationship extended well beyond what felt like a purely transactional employer/employee relationship, and we treated her accordingly. I genuinely thought of her almost like a younger sister. Unfortunately, over time, reliability and communication became increasingly concerning. She began intermittently missing scheduled shifts and at times would not answer our calls or messages when we were expecting her. There was generally an explanation afterward, and because we trusted her and cared about her, we repeatedly gave her the benefit of the doubt. Ultimately, however, she stopped responding altogether and did not show up for scheduled work. We called and messaged repeatedly with no response. Because this behavior was so unlike the person we thought we knew, our initial reaction was not anger—we were genuinely afraid something had happened to her. We worried that she might have been sick, hospitalized, or otherwise unable to contact us. We subsequently discovered that her Care.com profile appeared to show recently updated availability during the period when she wasn't responding to us. After six months of entrusting someone with our infant, welcoming her into our home, depending on her for scheduled childcare, and developing what we believed was a meaningful relationship with her, being completely ghosted without so much as a text saying she could no longer work for us was shocking and deeply upsetting. More importantly, abruptly failing to appear for childcare shifts without communication left our family scrambling to arrange care. I want this review to be fair: Robyn was genuinely helpful to our family for many months, and our son was comfortable with her. That is precisely why I cannot overlook how the relationship ended. Reliability and communication are fundamental requirements for anyone entrusted with caring for a child. Emergencies happen, circumstances change, and people leave jobs—but there is simply no justification for repeatedly failing to communicate and ultimately disappearing from a family that is depending on you. Based on our experience, despite the positive relationship we once had with her and the good care she provided when she was present, I could not recommend Robyn to another family for a childcare position requiring dependable, consistent coverage. The manner in which she ultimately handled her responsibilities destroyed the trust we had placed in her.
