About Ryan

My name is Ryan. I recently finished working with the Peace Corps in Peru (for 3 years and 3 months) as a special education facilitator and Youth Development Volunteer. My projects included the designing of sensory classrooms at the local special education schools, sensory therapy and activities with adults, lectures for local teachers on addressing and supporting those with different abilities, creating a Best Buddy programs in the communities as well as family support groups that had family members with different abilities. I also completed literacy, English and fitness projects for children (ages 2-15) who worked in the local market and landfill. Prior to my service I worked as a 1-1 in Washington D. C. as well at a Hospital School in Canton. I also spent a year with Baycove Human Services where I worked as an Education Employment Counselor working with adults with developmental disabilities and mental health issues. Since returning from the Peace Corps I have been working as a behavioral therapist, a substitute teacher in Easton, MA and a support staff at a home for autistic children.
