About Sammie

Hi! My name is Sammie, and I'm a part-time student finishing my degree in Linguistics. I've worked in child care since I was 12 years old, starting as a martial arts instructor for younger kids. Since then, I've worked extensively as a neighborhood babysitter, summer camp counselor, children's figure skating instructor, and an ASL intern and instructor at a Children's Museum. I'm energetic, bubbly, and deeply empathetic--often known as the designated "kid corraler" at family events! As a linguist, childhood language development is an absolute passion of mine. Watching kids master pronunciation and the unwritten rules of language in real life is so fascinating to me. As a part-time online student, having me as your babysitter is a total win-win. It gives me ample time to play, engage, and make every activity feel like a game, while also carving out calm study time where the kids and I can tackle homework together!
