I'd describe my personality as honest, understanding, occasionally funny I like caring for seniors because its what I do best. I'm looking for a job that will allow me to help other people and their families when they need it. I was a dietary aid and director for over 8 years at a senior living community. And I have been a private duty caregiver for 9 years. One thing you should know about me is I am very, very good at what I do. I try to be there not only to provide care and companionship to the client, but also provide understanding and support to their family as well. I am a person who takes initiative and does what needs to be done. Each person is different and so is every family. . I have experience with dementia, insulin shots, rheumatoid arthritis, mobility issues, hospice, bed bound, post op, medication distribution, housekeeping, cooking, running errands, medical appointments, and colostomy. Recomendation letters & references available upon request.
Sarah truly is a wonderful person in every way. She came to take care of my mother who was under hospice care. Not only did Sarah take excellent physical care of my mother, she became my mother’s best friend and confidant. She became like a family member while always also maintaining her professional role. She took care of my mother’s medication distribution, scheduling of appointments, bringing her to appointments and so many other things that a caregiver would do. But most importantly she laughed all the time with my mother, listened to my mother’s concerns and gave mom advice when asked and listened to my mother’s probably unsolicited advice all of the time. Sarah would bring mom her favorite foods and treats, would show up all the time with the most thoughtful gifts (not just for my mom but all the family members). She would take my mom out on fun outings which was not an easy task such as taking her to an oyster roast, to a tomato festival, shopping at her favorite stores and brought her to church on Sundays. These were things she did during her time off. Sarah is truly a blessing to anyone who is fortunate enough to have her in their lives. It makes me emotional writing this thinking about how much LIFE she brought to my mother while mom was losing her battle with her life. I just can’t recommend her enough. Words do not do her justice in recommending her.
