About Shannon

Growing up with three other siblings, one older and two younger, I learned at an early age how to take care of others. My older sister and I often had to babysit for the other two while our parents were at work. When I was around the age 16, I started babysitting as a side gig. I used to babysit two boys around the age 4 and 7. The 7-year-old was autistic and at times watching them together was a challenge but a great experience because I learned how to deal with different behaviors. A couple of years down the road, I babysat a 5-year-old who had many allergies. I kept a good watch on what he would eat and always had an EpiPen ready just in case. This past year, I spent in Spain teaching English in a primary bilingual school. The majority of my students were 6-9 years old. Although sometimes it can be a challenge, I love working with kids.
