About Shannon

I have been babysitting for several years and have worked with a wide range of ages from 2 months to adolescence, including kids with special needs. I work part time as an early childhood teacher while in school, where I assist with changing, feeding, and facilitation of creative playtime activities. I am also a weekly tutor at an elementary school, with responsibilities including ensuring that the kids are completing their assignments and feel confident in their understanding of the lesson. Through positions as a counselor for summer camps for children with disabilities, I have become experienced in the flexibility, patience, and creativity required in working with kids. I am currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy, and through the courses I have taken about childhood development, I have come to feel more confident in my abilities to care for children, which is something I have always been passionate about.
