I have experience working with young adult, middle adult, and geriatric patients who have diagnoses including but not limited to dementia, Alzheimer's, stroke, TBI, paraplegia, neuro defects, orthopedic surgeries/recovery, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, addicition, mental health illnesses, amputation, peg tubes (g- tubes, j-tubes), parenteral nutrition, chest tubes, Foley catheters, iv insertions, iv infusions, etc. I currently work full time with geriatric veterans in long term care and am looking for something PRN. I love working with the geriatric population as I feel many individuals in healthcare don't take the time to understand or listen to what is going on with the patient. I strive to make a difference in my patient's lives and help them understand there is a nurse who truly cares.
