About Shelby

I'd describe my personality as caring, understanding, and fair. I like working with kids because they remind me to appreciate the little wonders in the world. For instance, I got to work in a class with a child who loved to share that cows say "Moo!" Now, every time that I pass a field of cows I can't help but think about how sweet it is that cows make such a sound. I've had the opportunity to work with kids since I was 13 (so going on 10 years now!). I remember taking my first CPR and water safety class and feeling so prepared as I began babysitting for a couple of families. A few years later, I added teaching swim lessons to toddlers, children, and teens. Following that, I worked at various preschools leading extracurricular activities such as fitness and dance. During college, I worked as a teacher aide primarily with the infant and toddler age groups. Currently, I continue teaching extracurriculars. In my spare time, I like to read, work on crafts, and travel!
