About Shelon

About Me Hello! My name is Shelon. I'm originally from a small town in Mississippi and have called Georgia home for over 25 years. I've always had a heart for helping others. I originally trained as a nurse, but after moving from Alabama, I learned my license would not transfer. I later began working with clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, cerebral palsy, and other conditions, which renewed my passion for caregiving. My journey became personal when I experienced a stroke myself and had to relearn many things. That experience gave me a new purpose. I founded New Voice Horizons, where I support stroke survivors and others with communication challenges. Today, I bring caregiving experience, compassion, patience, and personal understanding to every client. I believe caregiving is about more than tasks-it's about trust, dignity, respect, and helping people feel supported. My goal is to make life a little easier, more comfortable, and more meaningful for the people I serve.
