Commonly, I am afraid of creatures that crawl. I worked with a client who raises butterflies. On day one at her home, she educated me on the birth and freeing of butterflies. Together we were timely to watch a butterfly emerge from its' chrysalis. It felt amazing to witness the emerging of a new life. She wanted me to put my finger into the netted habitat for the butterfly to crawl unto so that I could free it. I was a little nervous but I wanted to grant my client her desire; the process desensitized me. As a nurse, I care about the human as a whole. I listen to the concerns and desires of my clients. My goal is always to empathize and communicate in a manner that leaves my client feeling safe, heard and satisfied. I have a vast nursing background including home care, assisted living, ICU and leadership. The care I offer ranges from companionship to trach and ventilator care. I love home care because caring for one individual per shift allows me time to focus on great holistic care.
