About Silvia

Hi, my name is Silvia! I'm a senior Hearing and Speech major at the University of Maryland, on a speech pathology track with a minor in Human Development. My academic focus drives my passion for child development, inclusive education, and language acquisition especially in bilingual children. I bring 4 years of hands-on experience from my high school's Child Development program, where I worked in a functioning preschool and earned a 90-hour preschool training certification. During the summer, I work at a camp for children from preschool through middle school who have mild to moderate speech, language, sensory, play, and social needs. I'm highly flexible with scheduling and comfortable providing support in various ways. I'm open-minded, adaptable, and eager to help in any way needed!
