About Sophia

I am an undergraduate studying sociology and education, with several years of experience working with children and adolescents in educational and caregiving settings. Through my leadership roles as Program Director for the Mission Hill Summer Program and South Boston After School Program, I have worked closely with children ages 5-17, creating, engaging and supportive environments where young people can grow, have fun, and exercise creativity. As program director I have supervised staff, planned activities, managed groups of children, and supported families in meeting their children's needs. My experience includes homework help, arts and crafts, conflict resolution, social-emotional learning, and creating routines with the child to help them thrive. I believe child care is more about building trust, engaging curiosity, and supporting independent growth rather than just supervision. I am committed to providing attentive and compassionate care for every child.
