About Sophie

I attended Goucher College, where I got my BA in Elementary Education and English. I completed 4 teaching internships (one working in a 1st grade music classroom, another as a math and language arts assistant teacher working with students with moderate-to-severe learning differences, a third as a 5th grade language arts assistant teacher, and a final full time student teaching internship as a 2nd grade teacher). I directed a creative literacy after-school program "Read a Story / Write a Story" which supplies k-2nd grade students in Baltimore with supplementary foundational literacy skills, and hopes to spark an interest and love of books. As a certified K-6 teacher I feel confidant that I could tutor your child in any subject, and having focused on English, and taken a number of classes on teaching literacy skills, I also feel competent in working with students in middle school and high school who are struggling with ELA.
