About Sophie

I'm currently a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in elementary and special education and minoring in American Sign Language. I have lots of babysitting experience, as well as experience as a camp counselor at an outdoors YMCA camp. There, I interacted with children ages 4 through 15 and was the head counselor for the 8-10 group. I've completed CPR, mandated reporting, and first aid training for this job. Additionally, I have experience in a preschool setting at the University of Pittsburgh Child Development Center. Here, I have worked with children ages 5 weeks through 5 years as a student substitute. Currently, I am a student assistant in a toddler room of 11 kids. I have obtained my NSOR, PATCH, PA Safe Check, PA Child Abuse, and FBI background checks. In addition to my training and experience at these jobs, I also have training through the Penn State Better Care Kids program.
