Hello, I'm Sophie! 

My goal is to provide excellent childcare that consists of more than just babysitting. I believe that children should be taught and played with. Hide and seek, board games and puzzles are some of my favorite activities, as well as arts/crafts and reading. I also like to make sure everything that has been taken out is cleaned up before you arrive home. I've even had many of the older children I've watched help me do small chores like washing the dishes. Everything a child does should be made fun, but also be taken as an opportunity to learn! At the end of the day, I love to look back and know that I have made a difference in some way, and that's why I love being a Nanny. Working with children is my calling and I know that I am a great fit for the job!

We hired Sophie as our nanny for our daughter. She's been with her since she's been 3 months and is a testament to the rapid development we've seen in our daughter. Our daughter is well beyond her age in speech as well as several other areas. She just adores Sophie and talks about her even when she is not around :). 
The time has come for our daughter to enroll in a school but we will undoubtedly continue to hire Sophie for date nights and other occasions since we cannot imagine our lives without her! We will miss having her around more regularly but know that another family will soon have the pleasure and light of Sophie in their lives. 

Sophie watched our 8 year old son on a day when school was school was closed.  When we posted our need for back up care, Sophie was responsive and professional.  Our son had a wonderful time with Sophie.  He said she was fun and he enjoyed playing games with her.  I was immediately comfortable with Sophie.  She is warm, engaging and articulate.  We look forward to having her babysit for us in the future.  

Sophie was my son's 2-3night per week overnight nanny for about 11mos. As a single mom ER RN, it was a blessing to find her. She picked my son up from school, and he was cared for and loved at Sophie's until she took him back to school the next morning. I appreciated that Sophie would rather text and ask something than to do anything outside of my comfort zone. She is considerate, flexible, respectful, and a great communicator. But most importantly, she genuinely loved my son. Though we have a new nanny (whom she helped to interview!), we still wish it were Sophie. 

Great babysitter, really good with smaller kids. Our daughter is always excited to find out that Sophie will be taking care of her.

We couldn't have asked for a better babysitting experience than with Sophie!!!   We had an issue getting family to help for a night away and Sophie stepped in like a champ. We didn't give her much guidance as to how to care for our kids but she managed beautifully on her own. I was pleased to know she had the kids under control but ecstatic that they were having tons of fun, too. It felt like I was doing something good for them, the same way I feel when we go to the park. No parent guilt for being gone if you know what I mean. Can't wait to use her again!!! Thanks so much Sophie. Hope you have a prosperous career in childcare. 

Sophie is the best sitter I've ever had. My girls absolutely love her and ask to see her all the time. She's very caring and attentive. She's wonderful with children of all ages. She has a way on being able to get down on their level, which the kids love. 
I guarantee you will love her and so will your little one(s).

Sophie was amazing! My husband and I were in San Diego for a night and wanted to have a date night! I messaged Sophie and she called me within the hour. She was so sweet and very accommodating. My kids loved her immediately! She was really good at keeping me updated on what they were doing throughout the night and that made me feel really comfortable. I highly recommend her for a date night sitter or a sitter in general. Your kids will love her and so will you! 


This was my first time using Care.com and I must say that from the time I interviewed Sophie until the time I picked my 4 year old son up I felt comfortable. She is amazing! I was very impressed with her professionalism, and her warm spirit. She truly loves children and it shows. I was very pleased with her care for my son! It was last minute and Sophie came through for me and my son loved her! 

I had an odd request.  I needed a caregiver down in San Diego for one day even though I live in North San Diego County.  I had a new-hire orientation for a job and needed to get on a plane right after so I needed to have my daughter close by.  I was very nervous about finding someone out of our area that would be able to calm my own fears and my daughter's uncertainty.  Right from the beginning Sophie anticipated my needs and exceeded my expectations.  She answered my job description and showed me that she truly read what my needs were word for word.  She did everything possible to make sure that I was going to have an easy day.  We met the week before and I knew I had picked the right person.  She was kind, generous, and truly interested in my daughter.  When the big day came, I dropped my daughter off who was so excited to stay with Sophie.  Sophie gave me constant updates with pictures and texts letting me know my daughter was having a fun time.  I didn't worry once.  Sophie filled her day with toys, the pool, and the playground.  When I came to pick up my daughter it was hard for her to leave.  My only regret is that Sophie doesn't live up North close to me.  I would definitely use her regularly as my daughter loved her.

I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Sophie at our Preschool. She is a very special person who loves children very much. She is very patient and caring. She was very dependable and always full of energy and smiles. Sophie is the kind of worker I wish I had more of. I miss her very much and would definitely hire her back. You will truly be blessed to have someone like Sophie on your team!
