11 years as a nanny, plus seven years as a Patient Care Technician in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, caring for critically ill children from infancy through adolescence. I stay calm under pressure, read children's needs quickly, and offer steady reassurance to kids and parents alike. Many of my PICU patients had complex medical needs or disabilities so I'm comfortable and confident with children who need extra support - adapting to each child and paying close attention to non-verbal cues. I love active, engaged time: walking, swimming, playing outdoors, plus reading, museum visits, farm trips, baking, and crafts. But my favorite moments are the quiet ones - curling up with a book, a cuddle, being fully present. That's where real connection gets built. The most important part of this work is trust: being someone a child feels safe with and a parent feels confident leaving their child with, even when things don't go as planned. Everything else is an expression of that.
