About Syd

Hey y'all, my name is Syd (he/him)! I'm a youth worker + currently getting my Master's in Social Work at UIC. Here's a little about me: - My main experience comes from leading support groups for LGBT youth (ages 10-20). I ran Uniting Pride of Champaign's preteen group for 2 years. I was also a Camp Coordinator for their YMCA summer camps. Since 2023, I've been a site lead for Youth Outlook's virtual group! I'm confident in redirection, conflict resolution, and co-regulation skills. I thrive with neurodivergent youth and adapting to sensory needs. - Since Aug '25, I've regularly babysat through word-of-mouth referrals. In Feb '26, I was hired by Chicago Super Sitters for one-off gigs and events! I've had many successful gigs with children ages 2 and up (can provide references/reviews upon request). I'm CPR/AED certified and have first aid training. - Outside of youth work, I'm a cartoonist and have sold my work at craft fairs! I also adore reading, videogames, and cats :)
