About Taira

Hello! I am Taira. I'm a 3rd year graduate student studying to become an Occupational Therapist. I have experience working in grooming and hygiene, medical management, dementia care, and home safety/modifications safety training. I'd describe my personality as easy going, empathetic, and flexible. I like caring for seniors because it brings me a sense of purpose to use my skills to help individuals when facing difficulties mentally and physically, and how coping may be different from one person to another. I enjoy learning from my patients and their life experience. I believe in collaboration with the client, and want to work together to find goals that suit their wishes. I have experience volunteering with hospice and working with seniors at their home for sessions that included exercise programs, community outings, and transportation to and from medical appointments. In my spare time, I like to bake, read, and play solitaire!
