Hello. My name is Tamekhia. I am a nanny, and have been for the last 12 years. I really enjoy working with children, teaching and cooking with them. I am a free flow kind of nanny, who just wants to make your life with your children more enjoyable by providing great, safe and fun care. I come with very strong references and a very pleasant attitude.

I would give Tamekhia more stars if it was possible. She has gone above and beyond in support of our daughter. She was hired to be a full-time nanny for our youngest daughter who has Down syndrome in 2024. Since coming on board, Tamekhia has been instrumental in her development, both physically and developmentally. She's come such a long way thanks to Tamekhia's focus, structured days, lesson planning, field trips, coordinated care and her genuine love for what she does. She is a truly wonderful person, great to work with, reliable and trustworthy. Any family would be lucky to work with Tamekhia! 

Our family hired Tamekhia back in 2022, after we had our daughter who was born a micro preemie born 25 weeks. She quickly acclimated to our family and became part as a family member and a huge team player. Our daughter had PT, OT and Speech Therapy where Tamekhia came to appointments and took everything that was suggested and implemented it immediately following. Our daughter flourished immensely. She not only met development milestones,  she exceeded more than many specialists expected. We owe this all to our Nanny. She is reliable,  honest and communicates well when things need to be addressed. We would hire her 1000 times if we could. If you hire her, you are gaining a true gem. Our daughter loves her so much and still talks about her daily.  She cares about the well being and welfare of your child which is rare to find.

Tamekhia has been an absolutely amazing nanny to my two kids and another child that was in our nanny share (which we staggered first with just the 2 older kids, then all three kids together, and then just my 2 kids - while my daughter was 2 to 4, my son was 6 months to 2, and the other child was 2 to 3). She was so thoughtful, careful, kind, patient, encouraging, sensitive, and fun. She creatively came up with activities that were age and developmentally appropriate and catered to each child's needs/interests (and varying napping needs). She potty trained each child on her own initiative! She was a great communicator with the parents, helped us gently and collaboratively in our parenting strategies, and knew when to escalate concerns about children's safety or behavioral challenges. She was late by 5 minutes once in 2 years, and showed up early every single other day! She is a treasure and any family would be so lucky to have her in their lives!

Tamehkia cared for our son and another 2-year-old for a year, until they were heading to pre-K3. The kids immediately bonded with her, with our son sprinting to greet her each morning. She was creative in finding ways to keep the kids engaged and learning with games, arts and crafts, walks through the neighborhood, practicing letters and sounds, and more. This was during a pandemic era that restricted indoor entertainment options to just our house, but she found plenty of ways to keep them happy, active and learning. 

She was reliable, punctual, and easy to talk to about any issues with the kids or general logistics. We're grateful that she's still an occasional weekend babysitter for our son, who is delighted anytime he finds out she's coming by.

When I talked to Tameka, I was very impressed with her responses, attitude, experience, and communication. When we met in-person, we wanted to hire her, and she told us that while she had started looking at some other opportunities, we were her "highest priority".

Our next steps were to get a nanny contract, with an expected start date for Tameka in early September. My fault in taking way longer than expected, but up until 2 weeks prior to starting, Tameka was still talking to me, and I was under the impression that she intended to work for us.

The week before starting, I sent a contract for review and relevant paperwork for payroll. I mentioned how excited we were to be working with her and that I would be taking the day off to go over our routine and ensure my son was comfortable with her.

She didn't show up. She didn't call or text or email. A simple "Sorry, I found another position" is all it would have taken. I would understand. This is rude, unprofessional, and disappointing.

Tamekhia took care of our three children for five years from ages 0-2-4 until they were 5-7-9. She's been a part of our family and our kids love her. Her strengths include: even temper, appropriate expectations of children for their ages, playful with children.

Things she was able to accomplish with our children/family:
- potty-trained our two youngest children and got them on a nap schedule
- taught our kids how to fish
- managed children through transition to school
- managed children along with two dogs (including a new puppy)
- transitioned our family through a cross-county move
- supported our family while one parent was deployed overseas for a year

Tamekhia took care of our son during the last school year - she is an exceptional care-taker. During the time she worked for us, our son grew and developed in so many positive ways. She came up with creative art, science, and reading projects; helped him learn letters, numbers, and colors, took him to the library, park, and on play dates. I always felt completely confident when I left our son in her care. We are starting preschool with our son this fall, otherwise I would continue to work with Tamekhia this school year as well. I recommend her without hesitation.

Tamekhia was our nanny for two years and we absolutely adored her as did our daughter.  For the first year, she was a nanny just to our daughter when she was 3 months old. Later on, we added a second family for a nanny share.  I think that Tamekhia's top quality is the most important in a nanny:  she is absolutely and unconditionally devoted to the children. She did everything we asked her to do and then more. She often took initiative and surprised us with new, different, and engaging activities for our daughter including art projects, library field trips, dozens of trips to the park and our nearby downtown.  She created a structure for the children that was both fun, but also built essential skills.  By the time she left, our 23 month had learned numbers, colors, animals etc., and was talking full sentences, and had great manners. When our daughter naturally started to "explore her boundaries". :) Tamekhia clearly had the knowledge about how to address these situations in a healthy manner.  Another quality in Tamekhia that we appreciated was working with her on sleep training. We were having trouble before she arrived to our household and in a manner of weeks, she was on a schedule! On that note, she provides excellent advice but is very willing to engage with the parents so she never comes across as overpowering.  It was a team effort. Finally, she is extremely laid back and easygoing.  My husband works out of the house and both of us regular engaged with her and it was so nice to have her around that we befriended her and now consider her part of our family.  I would be happy to speak with anyone about our experience with her.

Tamekhia took care of our son this school year, and saying goodbye to her at the end of the year was one of the saddest days for everyone in our family. Tamekhia is a wonderful caretaker. She is loving, patient, energetic, creative and just great. Our son will start preschool in the fall, otherwise I would absolutely keep working with her in the coming year. I recommend her without hesitation.
