I enjoy working with all ages but I have newborn to preschool expertise. I have my associates degree from Rockland Community College with an emphasis in early childhood education and psychology, as well as my Bachelors in Communication Disorders and Sciences from New Paltz University. I additionally have experience working with children and adults with special needs, and have completed the 40 hour behavior therapist training. Our family had the pleasure of entrusting Tessa to care for our two boys (ages 3 and 10) as well as our friends daughter (age 3) on several occasions. I can whole heartedly say that Tessa is one of the most capable, energetic and reliable sitters we have worked with. Tessa has a genuine warmth and kindness that is apparent the moment she enters the room. Immediately upon arrival she was present and fully engaged, jumping right into connecting and playing with the kids, making them feel seen and valued. Tessa made what is usually a tearful separation, a complete breeze. The kids were so occupied and entertained, they barely even noticed when we stepped out for the evening. Additionally, she masterfully handled dinner for all three kids, as well as the full bedtime routines. Our boys literally asked us to go out again the next night so Tessa could come back. I wholeheartedly recommend Tessa to any family in need of a trustworthy, loving, dependable and highly competent caregiver. She has our whole family’s highest endorsement!
