About Theresa

Theresa was a lifesaver to me for nearly two years. I moved in with my elderly neighbor Doris in February of 2024 because she was unable to live on her own. Doris was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in April of 2024 and her brain scans showed signs of dementia although she was always aware of her surroundings. I worked with Theresa at the Post Office until my retirement in 2024 and that’s how Doris met Theresa when she became her mail carrier. I didn’t know of any qualified caregivers at the time except for Theresa and didn’t trust anybody except for Theresa. Doris wouldn’t let anybody bathe her except for Theresa because she was the only person she trusted and felt comfortable with. After a two hour mini Spa Day which included hair and nails Doris always came out looking sparkling new and smelling fresh from head to toe. When it came time for a haircut Theresa set up the appointment and coached her in the chair. Doris didn’t eat much but she loved her chocolate milkshakes and whenever Theresa stopped by she brought her the biggest shake she could find as well as a bunch of goodies. I rarely left the house but when I did I never had to worry because I knew Doris was in good hands. After loosing her high school sweetheart and husband of 58 years Doris almost never smiled or laughed except in the company of Theresa or alongside me watching “The Mary Tyler Moore Show”. If Theresa was a full time live in I would have hired her the very first day back in 2024. Taking care of a loved one is the hardest job you’ll ever have and finding someone who’s caring enough is even harder. Kind,thoughtful and caring,Theresa embodies all of that and I’m not sure what I would have done without her!
