About Theresa

I have been working with children for over 20 years. I have experience caring for and helping children of all age groups (newborns-12, and twins also) as well as children with developmental, physical, and behavioral challenges. I find the joy and learning I experience when I am with children to be rewarding and fulfilling. I feel that a child caregiver is more than "just" a babysitter or a playmate, but rather is an extension of the family who assists them in achieving the goals, values, beliefs, and ethics they expect of their child. I believe that children grow and learn everyday; not just through standard educational tools, but also through discovery of their environment and interaction with the world outside. I enjoy observing and aiding children in learning on their own as well as facilitating daily age-appropriate activities such as; songs, movement/music, reading/story time, imaginative play, and art/craft activities. I believe in finding alternative ways to deal with behavioral issues rather than to use any form of physical punishment. I welcome any opportunity that allows me to further my growth and development as a child caregiver. Taking time to get down and look at the world in wonder through a child's eyes brings me great joy and a better way to see the world. Simply put, being a child caregiver is my joy in life.
