I’m very happy to recommend Valeria as a nanny. She has been with our family since November 2024 and has cared for our daughter since she was about seven to eight months old. She will remain with us until the end of June. The only reason we are moving on from her is because my wife, Lindsey, has decided to stay home with our daughter, so we no longer need a nanny. Valeria has been absolutely amazing and has truly become like a member of our family. She has traveled with us multiple times, including flying with us to Syracuse twice and coming with us to our cabin to help while we were on vacation. She has always been incredibly dependable — not once was she late, and she always stayed later when we needed her. She also helped us on weekends and babysat many evenings so we could go out on date nights. She has been with our daughter through an important stage of her life, helping raise her from a baby into a toddler and supporting her development every step of the way. One example is when we did a baby-led weaning approach where we introduced 100 foods in 100 days. Valeria played a huge role in that process by cooking many of the meals herself and helping make it successful. She cooks for our daughter almost every day and prepares an impressive variety of healthy homemade meals. Some examples include lemon soups, farro, couscous patties, ground turkey patties, pulled pork, shredded beef, chicken thighs, and many other dishes. We often joke that our daughter eats better than we do. Valeria is also very focused on development and learning. She recently completed a Montessori certification and has helped us set up a Montessori space in our home. She creates thoughtful activities including arts and crafts, sensory play, and learning exercises. They also spend a lot of time outdoors doing things like picnics, nature walks, picking flowers and leaves, and exploring outside. She also takes our daughter to activities like gymnastics and the library. She keeps our daughter’s space very organized and tidy as well. She makes sure the dishwasher is emptied, laundry is done twice a week, and bedding is changed weekly. She takes pride in keeping the environment clean and structured. Valeria is bilingual. She speaks fluent English and communicates easily with family members who don’t speak Spanish. However, we asked her to speak only Spanish with our daughter so she could grow up bilingual, and Valeria did that consistently. One thing that really stands out about Valeria is how present she is. When she is working, her attention is completely on the child. She almost never uses her phone — even when the baby is asleep she rarely checks it, maybe just sending a quick message to her husband occasionally. She doesn’t take calls, isn’t on social media, and stays fully focused on her work. Our daughter has received the absolute best care we could have hoped for. Valeria is kind, dependable, hardworking, and deeply caring with children. Any family would be incredibly lucky to have her. Please feel free to reach out if you’d like to speak with me directly about our experience with Valeria. Sincerely, Hernando
