About Valeria

Hi! My name is Valeria, and I am a Psychology student at California Lutheran University. I am a responsible, patient, dependable, and caring person with experience as a caregiver. Through my caregiving experience and studies, I've developed strong communication skills and a passion for helping others. I have experience through IHSS (In Home Support Services), where I supported a 93-year-old senior, an adult with muscular dystrophy, and an adult with paraplegia. This experience strengthened my ability to be attentive, respectful, and consistent while providing care with patience and compassion. I also grew up around a close family friend with Down syndrome, which helped me build empathy and an appreciation for individual differences. I am especially interested in working with children with special needs, including autism, and helping create a safe, positive, and supportive environment.
